Meet the Poway Team Behind Otto’s Garage Door

We’re a small crew. That’s on purpose. Every person who shows up at your door in Poway lives in this county, answers to Otto directly, and carries the same rule: the name on the van is the name on the invoice and the name on the license. No subcontractors. No rotating cast of strangers. The people you see on this page are the same people who’ll pull into your driveway on Twin Peaks Road or over in Green Valley. We know these neighborhoods because we drive them every day, and we’ve been doing it since 2004.

Our People

Otto Reinhardt – Owner & Lead Technician

Otto founded Otto’s Garage Door in 2004 and still takes the first call on most jobs. He quotes the work himself, holds that price at the door, and shows up with the truck. He counts spring cycles the way most people count tire miles, and he’ll tell you what’s left on yours before you ask. Fluent in LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Craftsman, and Raynor, Otto handles the heavy spring work, the tricky opener diagnostics, and anything that makes his crew pause. He’s the guy who answers at nine at night when a spring lets go and your vehicle is sealed inside. Ask anyone on your street. He’s been in this county since 2004, and Otto is a palindrome: reads the same from either end, same as the door.

Marcus T. – Senior Installer

Marcus has been with Otto for eleven years, longer than anyone else on the crew. He started as an apprentice and now runs most of the new door installations across Poway, Rancho Bernardo, and Scripps Ranch. Marcus handles full tear-outs and replacements, framing adjustments, and custom door fits on the older 1970s and 80s garages you see throughout Poway’s established neighborhoods. He’s the one who’ll walk you through the difference between a Clopay insulated steel door and a basic pan door before you spend a dollar. Off the clock, he rebuilds classic trucks in his own garage and can talk torque specs with anyone who asks.

Dana R. – Service Coordinator

Dana is the voice on the phone most afternoons, and she’s been with Otto’s Garage Door since 2016. She knows the service area street by street, schedules the day in a way that keeps drive times short, and handles the paperwork on the 90-Day Done Right Promise that goes out on every invoice. Dana also manages the standing offers: $40 off any repair over $200, the free second opinion on any written estimate, and the standing 10% discount for seniors and veterans. She grew up in Poway and went to Poway High, and she’ll remember your name when you call back next year.

Eli V. – Apprentice Technician

Eli is the youngest on the crew, in his second year riding with Otto and Marcus. He’s passed his background check, wears the uniform, and is working through certifications on LiftMaster and Chamberlain openers. Eli handles the parts inventory, keeps the trucks stocked with the springs, cables, and rollers we use most in Poway’s summer heat, and he’s the extra set of hands on two-door installs and emergency calls. You’ll see him carrying panels, running tools, and absorbing what Otto teaches about spring tension and door balance. His goal is to run his own truck by year five, and Otto holds him to the same standard as everyone else: if it’s not done right, we make it right.

One Standard, Every Job

The rule across this entire crew is the same one Otto wrote down in 2004 and still puts in writing on every invoice: the 90-Day Done Right Promise. If something isn’t right within ninety days, one call brings Otto back. No runaround, no customer-service queue. Every team member works under that promise, and every team member knows a door is 200 pounds riding on two springs. So we respect the weight, we quote the price before the work starts, and we don’t change it at the door. The person who answers your call is the person who knows your address, not a national call center routing you somewhere else. That’s the job. We’ve been doing it here in Poway for over twenty years, and we’ll see you again on Saturday.
